Have you compared the inductance of the XLT and the new DFX coils?

No, not yet. I really need to put them on an LCR meter, we have one at work but we're shut down this week.

I have borrowed the LCR meter. Results are:

DFX 9.5"
TX: L=540uH R=2.67 ohms
RX: L=13.8mH R=35.8 ohms

XLT 9.5"
TX: L=540uH R=1.4 ohms
RX: L=36mH R=122.8 ohms
