is it possible to make a home made coil for a minelab sovereign,i understand that there is a circuit board inside the coil, does any one know what this circuit board consists of,any information on how to make a coil for a sovereign would be useful.

The circuit you refer is a pre-amplifier, coiltek was the maker of this (as i believe they were the manufacters of the first minelab coils). There's pictures of this board in the forum (just search for ..., no schematic sorry).
Nevertheless if you intend to make a coil for the Sov. XS series there's no need for this pre-amp.
There are a great number of posts in this forum about Coil making for the minelab sov, just search for it, all the info you need is here.

May i warn you that this is not easy, you will need some test & measure equipment (a good LCR meter is a must have !).

Balancing the coils position will also be a pain in the ... ;-)

i need a diagram of the coil configuration of the minelab sovereign with if possible the coil circuit board diagram.

My original Sovereign coil contains an LT1028, the + and - voltages are obtained from a bridge rectifier circuit connected across the transmit coil and 2 filter caps. I have the circuit drawn out some where.
