Hi,

I was randomly going nowhere in particular, but landed on this attached link, and it gave reference to a Kittyhawk found in Eygpt.

If there were guns and ammo aboard, as stated, this was a P-40 Warhawk - not a Kittyhawk. The Kittyhawk was the civilian version of the P-40 with no armament installed. It's mainly used in air shows today but for about 15 years after WWII was over, it was built just for those who wanted to buy one without all the fast pointy things in it. Curtis turned a half full warehouse of partially built P-40s into a commodity rather than scrap them.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I had wondered about war hawk to kitty hawk (guess the clue in the name  Embarrassed)
Was also looking for some old footage of them in dog fights like the ones filmed from gunner points of view.
The footage I have seen is crazy. Literally was on a wing and prayer for those guys.

I'm surprised some one didn't take the guns and Ammo from that one.

People still shoot ammo from WWII.

Things stay pretty well in those environments. Cool
