From the land of the Bluenose.....he was shot down a few times and in the end lost his legs. Fitted with artifical ones bader once again took to the skies over Britian and was shot down again. he escaped and was recaptured so the story goes with the Germans taking away his artifical legs so he..........couldn't escape again. Believe that is how the story goes.
