Thats amazing thanks for sharing that Eugene. Those woods can be incredibly dense and filled with blackberries so I can see how something could stay lost like that. Some of those areas haven't been touched since 1932 when the Great Tillamook burn took a huge section of coastal forest, according to a historical marker in that area.
I used to camp often in that general area and have visited the Tillamook Air museum several times. It's the largest freestanding wooden building in the US according to them. It could hold 7 of the military dirigibles at once. At one time a pilot was asked to do a fly through for a celebration event and he decided to do a complete barrel roll inside the building. It's incredible if you ever get a chance to see it I recomend it.
