A few bronze age finds in the UK

Finally got round to posting some pics of a few bronze age metal detecting finds over the last 10 years or so in Norfolk ,Suffolk and Cambridgeshire here in the UK. The flat axe dates from approx 2500bc , the two palstaves date around 1500bc and the socketed axe is around 1000bc together with another piece of socketed axe and the tip of a socketed spear of around the same time . In the case of the two palstaves it can be seen they are intact and one has suffered very little corrosion ,the museum people tell me that these were likely thrown in to rising water at the time as offerings to gods to hold back the water levels that were rising at the time taking land away from people. It is thought that broken bronze items were not generally discarded but melted down to reform an axe/spear etc . The axes would have been bound to a stave in the horizontal position and used like an adze. There must have been some organised industry going on at the time of these items as the tin would have come from mines in Cornwall and the copper came from mines in North Wales a good degree of co operation and organisation would have been necesscary to bring these metals to together for making the alloy bronze at this time Britain was not one country but a series of different tribal areas . There is some evidence that bronze items such as these were exported from the UK then to mainland europe . I need to improve my photo techniques a bit ,especially on coins my attempts at picturing my iceni and roman coins aren't to sharp at the moment so will post those another time !!

The items posted come from multiple locations that I have been lucky enough to detect on  across counties Norfolk ,Suffolk and Cambridgeshire over the last ten years or so ,all ploughed farmland .Thanks for your interest hope you have some goodluck !

Thanks Krango41 a friend of mine also has a Teknetics G2 and is getting good results with it
