331 BC, babylon, after it was conquered by alexander the great.  The seated guy is Baal(?) holding a staff with a falcon sitting on his arm, and a walking lion on the reverse.  They were made of silver or gold.  Why anybody would sell replicas of this is beyond me.

Ahhhh..I missed the post where you wrote that you saw the word "Copy" on the coin.

Of course then... yes, it's a fake.

You could send a picture to "Harlan J. Berk, Ltd." <info@hjbltd.com> and see if they would help you out. Very experienced company that I have bought items from in the past. Do the normal tests with a magnet and try weighing to see if it is a standard weight for similar coins.

Sorry! I should have read the whole stream before posting. What bad luck to find a copy!

Folks, the coin has the word COPY imprinted on it meaning it is a reproduction. There's no need to evaluate it to bits. Try reading all the posts in a forum topic before you wade in and give useless advice.

The person who originally posted the query said it has the word COPY on it. He even posted a smaller, closer picture. It's a reproduction.
