Go Up Go Down

Few years back, My Pore ol' deceased mother-in-law lived in a retirement complex of bout 400 apartments, and whenever anyone passed on, the other residents were allowed to take whatever they wanted, well Granny would always hit the silverware drawer and clean it out, one day she give me a good size box of old silverware, which i promply took to an antique dealer, some of it was no good , some good, but i walked out with $100.00 in my pocket, Thanks Granny Cool

I'll pick it up at the "... part", Bugar  Cheesy

I can't even begin to try to recall how many "sanitation engineers" stop by my boothe at gold shows, and tell me of their hoard of silverware...hoping to learn sometime what to do with it.

They were so plumb inspiring with their tales of valuable scrap, I sat down and created a silverware recovery kit which easily removes the silver, then re-agglomerates the silver, and then returns it to hard silver ingots.

Your MIL was a smart ole bird, I'd say.

LOVED that story, Bugar!

Thanks for sharing! Kiss

Thanx for sharing that kool story Bugar, yer gran sounds like a pretty nice ol' gal to be fixin' ya up like that, while she could still manage her treasures. Cool Did ya take any notice of what the guy buyin' her stuff was sayin' was the good stuff? I usually go by the weight of it in my hand, plus after a while you just get to know how to spot good silver. However, most places I've ever checked, they simply downplay everything and treat you like you were born yesterday when it comes to handing out the coin for it. So, with that said, I think you did well, scoring a Cnote for yer gran's collection of salvaged silverware from that dealer.  Cool
