Go Up Go Down

I had found this item a few years ago and the people that have seen it remark on how unique it seems to be.  I've never seen one like it but that doesn't mean much either.  I've had a few people tell me that they believe it could be an antique.  I had dug this from around 5" deep.  Item is approximately 3" tall and maybe 2 1/2" wide at the feet.  Not sure what it would have been used for exactly as there is no spot on the back where a person could have pinned it on something and no breaks around the outer edge where a person may have worn this on a necklace.  It's just a roller skating Fred Flintstone that  the legs move.  The back has a stamp of Hanna Barbara with a number or date but as of yet I can't seem to make it out.  Not sure if it is antique or not or even if it may be worth a buck or two but is an interesting piece to see if you're a Flintstones fan I guess.

I'll get this picture thing down sooner or later so that they are a little clearer.  Thanks for viewing.

I think the Flinstones started in the early 1960s so it might be pretty old and have good collectible value. Neat find. Sue

I'm not real sure what sort of metal it is and Yes it is intact and complete as far as I can tell to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks for the replies and input on the find all.

I'm still trying to find some info on it but still have had not much luck.

I've just spent an hour online trying to find your Fred Flintstone - plastic, plush, paper, enamel, but nothing resembling yours. Sue

Thanks for looking around and trying to find something on it Sue.  I really appreciate it.  I must admit....now I'm extremely curious about it if  you were unable to find much about it I doubt very much that I could find anything either then.    Maybe originally it was painted.  Maybe it wasn't and it looked pretty much like it does now.  Maybe I should try and post a better image of both the front and back side of this item and see if someone could possibly find something about it.

I had thought about maybe turning it into a "pin" that a person could wear on a coat or something but if information seems to be scarce about this piece then it will stay the way it is since "altering" it could be a bad idea.

Thanks again...I really do appreciate the fact that you tried to find some information about it.

Certainly seemed, with the Hanna Barbara name and number on the back, that it would have been a cinch to find the item online. Don't not look, just because I failed initially, tho. Even if enamel or paint wore off while it was buried, I'd think that a bit would still remain.  Interesting ID/value item, you've found.

I'm still checking into it here and there.  My wife had mentioned that maybe it could have even came from a "Kings Island" amusement park since it once had a Hanna Barbara land.  Maybe could have even came from a box of cereal or something.,  The only thing for certain is that it does seem to be unique and I'm not giving up on finding some info on it yet.  If I happen to find out something about it I'll be sure to post it here.  Maybe we may even see where someone else was able to find something about it and posted it here for us to see.
