Go Up Go Down

hi, all, wondering if you guys can help,
I've inherited a box of my granfathers watches, he was a timekeeper for boats & had a penchent for related pieces - this web site is the only thing that comes up when i search on Habeir type
I have a very heavy solid silver, chronometer, 3 fingers,  with very thick bevelled glass on the fascia, apart from "Habeir type" on the fascia the only other marking is serial no 275902 in the mechanism & "Y" & "II" on the adjuster
please can any one shed any light on what this timepiece is & where it came from please
thanks Jane

Did your Grandfather die or disappear and then declared deceased?  I ask this because he could have been working on a Time Machine.  I am genuine and mean what I say.  If any clues in this direction that you have, please let me know.  I may be of help.

Joe, I have never seen any comment here as insensitive as this one is. You should be thankful that Jane hasn't been back here since April 2, meaning she probably never will come back. You, sir, are gaining a reputation as a crackpot. Well deserved.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi J,
I will have a look through the references I have.
It's actually a "Chronograph" not chronometer.
I'm pretty sure "Habier Type" refers to the movement not the maker.
I've seen this before but I can't off the top of my head remember.
Pretty fine watch.... don't go parting with it!
I'll get back to you.......

Your clock/time peace is made to follow astrological time NOT CONSTENT TIME.

This is most beneficial if your a Navigator on the Sea.

It can be set to the Polaris Star and not our SUN as most clocks are.

That's my Story and I'm sticking with it!!!   Angry   Wise   Great
