Here's one of the old fishing plugs I've been luggin' around for awhile. I quit using it for real fishing though a few years back when I realized they too, like silver coins, were getting quite rare. So now, he's retired to a safe hanging display along with some of his cousins and nephews and stuff, in one of my cozy corners to comfort me...

This old artificial lure is known as a, Heddon River Runt, jointed model, for a more life-like, fish-foolin' action!  Any fishermen or women in here? Cool

Hi Outback, thanks for the post. Very interesting picture too. I used my Irfanviewer on the object on the right, to blow it up a few notches and I couldn't see any drilled hole, where the split ring would normally go on an old spoon. So, I don't think it's a lure.  Could be some kind of a piece of oldish joolry though, maybe check with Doc or Bugar?

However now, the brass spoon on the left, the kool guy with the nicely aged patina, should (looks like to me anyway) be an old Aligator Spoon, they were made overseas. I still have a few in one of my many tackle boxes...Check the other side of it for a logo thingy, there should be one there buddy, but ya might need a 10x loupe to find it though. Wink  Let me know what you find, o.k.?

Oh ya OB, did ya get my message regarding the S&G's you were looking for yet?

Smiley Gee Doc, I didn't know you fished too! Huh? And a Musky hunter to boot even. My first ever, real hobby/sport was fishing. I was just CRAZY for it man!  Something very challenging at getting consistantly good at it, that drew me like a fly to a spider web. Now here, after all these posts, we finally see that we also have Fishing, in common.  Wink  Like I've said before in here, you ARE quite the guy. Cool

Now that's a very neat and different score, from a tree there bud. I remember half a reefer one time too but I sorta got half lost after that too and what you guys get in here is about what's left of me too. Grin Grin Grin

I've eyeballed a pile of sinkers, hooks, and a few lures every year when I do my tour during the annual fall drawdown of one of our local rivers. Some neat oldies turn up once in awhile.  Smiley

Deanman, what ever became of your Heddon lures then? Do you remember catching fish on them? Which one was your favorite?

Smiley Hi Debistogs, another fisherperson, Yipee! Grin Good luck on your quest for your dad's ol' Tbox, hope there's some kool stuff in there for you! Here's another one to keep your eyes peeled for. It's called a "FishCake" made by the Helin Tackle Co. I don't see many of these around any more...

It,s been so long since I have gone fishing..the one I remember looks just like the one in the photo...my father had sail boats so we could troll behind them..I remember catching a very large Muskie..couldn't get him in he was so large.

I live right on lake Ontario now...but no longer fish.

Smiley Mornin' Deanman, nice story bud!  That's one of the things I like that about fishing, There's always a big fish story to be told!  Grin Musky's are right up there, as some of the hardest fish to land, in freshwater. So congrats on hooking one of those beautiful brutes period!  Wink That in itself was a nice trip fer ya. Cool

Maybe, seeing as to how you live SO close to a real lake there, you could sort of get back into it a little, one day perhaps...?  It's SO relaxing!  Wink I could help ya to get set-up to catch lots, for less than a night on the town, anytime you'd like to consider it, chum!  Grin No joke! Cool

Do ya still have a sail boat around in the family? Right on the big O there like you are, it too would be something else from your past to perhaps have a peek at again, now that your older and more stabalized and in go mode.  Cool

later dude,
