Sue, you may like to update this site or check if it is no longer in business.

Her post was 4 years ago. Anyone with a bit of interest would surely check to see if the link is still active.

By the way, welcome back. How's your brother doing?

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hi my friend! Thank you for asking about my brother. He feels a little bit better but still has vision problems, tomorrow he will undergo eye surgery again. Planning to visit him this summer in PR. I have been out of circulation due to a neck injury for which I'm still recovering. This morning I was getting ready for my first full day hunt in the West Suburbs woods but before I decided to check legislation in the area regarding metal detecting, just in case. To my surprise I found out that in April of this year MDing was banned in all Cook County forest preserves.  Cry Other counties are following. Hunting in the woods was my favorite niche. Great detecting and a variety of things always found. Now, it is history. No details of what caused the ban but I can figure it was due to the few who never covered holes or left garbage behind them. I myself came across with a number of uncovered holes. In my view, it should've been restricted and not completely banned. This is a great hobby and most of us do it professionally. I remembered teaching at least a couple of dozens people who stopped me to ask about the hobby. I don't like to MD in parks so much, but I may need to reconsider. I may devote more time to beaches as well.   Undecided
