How did you find that were you live , lost Indian's ?   Shocked   I thought it is only found here on the west coast around volcanic activity ? For a Broken arrow it is a great find !!

Eugene,   they also have obsidian in Virginia.    Most likely it got to Sue's neck of the woods through trade.   There were some pretty extensive trade networks pre-Colombus.

You're right, Eugene. California find. I've lived here & there. I was exploring around in the Owen's Valley probably south of Independence, California, but I later found the obsidian dome where it, no doubt, came from as I collected lots of pieces of the banded obsidian just like the point. Seems like we had to drive thru a brothel called Janie's to get to the dome so it must have been just inside Nevada. Sue
