Does anybody have any new ideas about Pre-Columbian visits to the Americas?  We know that the Vikings were not the first.

Actually, I have all of Berry Fell's books.  Very interesting stuff.  Just wanted to see what everyone else was thinking.

I agree with you. Too much evidence to dispel this idea.

I don't think you will get many arguments from folks that believe Columbus was the first outsider to visit America. Who and when is the question. Little doubt that the Polynesians ,Vikings visited as for the Japanese,Chinese who knows. There was a guy some years back that claimed to have proof that the Egyptians had a settlement on the west coast 4000 YBP. He faded away so guess he couldn't pass peer preview

My personal belief is "anything is possible."  There is a lot of evidence to suggest there were pre-Columbian visits to the mainland Americas.  Polynesians reached Hawaii across a vast expanse of ocean.  No reason they, or anyone else, couldn't have traveled the next vast expanse of ocean.  As for Columbus, just because someone declares to be the first ( or someone else makes the claim about you) doesn't make it so!  Of course any claims must have some kind of physical or documentary evidence to make them plausible.

Evidence abounds throughout MesoAmerica for pre-Columbian visits.  Note this adorno it certainly does not look like a Mayan/Native.
