Any idea on this rimfire

It about 1.5 inch long and over .5 in dia. Odd thing is the firing pin marks (2) are 180 from eachother.

Just looks like a .22 that didn't fire the first time so someone turned it around and tries again, hence the 2 firing pin marks.

Just noticed the .5 diameter too so it isn't a .22. So no idea then. Sorry.

Actually, it appears to be a nail gun rimfire casing rather than from a bullet exiting an ordinary gun. The pneumatic firing pin is a softer hit than the spring fired one and lasts longer. A tradesman can hardly afford to be without his nail gun.

Tha old rim fire was a little unpredictable,
so Colt, and maybe others made pistols
with double firing pins.

That is why they are 180 degrees off.

I guess it is a 45 long Colt.

There is a "U" stamped on the back so it makes it a Union Metallic Cartridge Company round.They were bought by Remington. I found 3 of them.2 have 2 firing pin marks 180 apart the other has 4 pin marks (most likely a refire). I havent found any listing for this size or 2 firing pins.    Help

Yes, tha 45 rim fire was replaced by tha 45 center fire.
