Thanks for the heads up. I have known people who disarm those for a living get hurt really bad and they are pros. Novices should use extreme caution. Again thanks  cakelady

This sort of threat is going to be a continued threat. God help us all and keep us safe. We don't want to be hurt and don't want anyone else to be hurt. It' just a job hazard. So be careful out there!

Hi Rob,

I will always keep this in mind. Planning to dig a former WWII POW camp site, waiting for the permission to do so. There is one particular area of interest I am eyeing for is the Japanese munition bunker. I may just have to be extra careful, with stories like these it should remind us of the perils.

Go Up Go Down

I was a volunteer paramedic when I was stationed in Charleston, SC back in the early 90's and I went on a call that ended up being from some guy found a cannon ball in his yard during a home renovation project that he was working on and he tried to drill out the fuse to see it was armed and ended up killing himself and severely injuring one of his children. I'll never forget that call as long as I live. I've never had the pleasure of finding a cannon ball in my hunting days but if I did I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole unless I knew for sure what I was dealing with.
