I pulled this out of the dirt. I was cleaning up an old wood shed and a little of the stock was showing. The receiver has, Diamond Arms Co, St Louis, engraved on the left side. The firing pin is missing as is the for-stock. The butt is rough and the trigger is broken off, 12 gauge pretty sure. I read one source that these were sold up to 1932?

ammunition. Most of these guns are Black powder muzzleloaders, Flintlocks, Etc and several other ignitions. However

Hello oro, Thats a pretty neat find You have there, Diamond Shotguns were an inexpensive Shotgun, and I beleive they were made by the Cresent Firarms Arms company. Cresent Firearms made a variety of shotguns Under various names that can clean up really nice. do You have an idea weather the barrels are steel or damascus? If You are interested I can tell You the best way to restore it, again thats a great find [clapp].. Rob

No, not damascus. I think it could be retored. Even though it is rusty it is surface rust and appears fine grained, not heavy or flacky. Seems to be made of a good grade of steel.

Thats great what i use and was taught to me by a friend who is a collector and a Licened Gun Dealer, is to use wd-40 and 4xxxx steel wool to get the rust off it works great!!! and if You can get the maunfactures name off the gun I can tell You where to get replacement stocks that are original not reproductions. but keep the origional stock dont dispose of it.
