Will try the steel wool and wd40. I have steel wool that I use for gold recovery on my list of things to buy my next trip to town. I'll just make sure it is fine grade this time.

Hey All

Well i did find this Pistol when i was renovating a house. There is a stamp ELG on the cylinder.I think its either French or Belgium.
It was inside the wall of a house from the 1870s.One side was pretty well rusted, but the other is ok.

Jeff..

Hi Jeff
great find ! the markings are belgium, I cant tell from the picture but it looks like the trigger may fold forward, as they did on some models. and it may be a pin fire ignition, also it looks to be a copy of the french Pin fire Revolver. at one time these guns wernt that collectable. But during the past several Years they have gone up in price. Again great find and thanks for sharing Clapp Good luck with Your hunting,,,,Rob

Hey Rob

I think your right it being a belgium copy of the French Pin fire Revolver.I think maybe it could be dated between 1870-90,but im not sure.you are also correct about the folding trigger mechanism.
I also have two other objects that i will show as soon as Christian gets in contact with me.(regarding weapon laws)

Jeff..

Here are also two finds that a friend found Wink in the area from Nuremberg.
They were found in a trench by the autobahn, probably from the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division Gotz von Berlichingen.
One has a bent barrel and the other one has a shot through triggerhausing.
I know what they are,but lets see if anyone else knows Great

Jeff..
