Go Up Go Down

Good Day!,

It's been a while, this is my first post after 10 years when I joined this TH site.

I am not really an expert in code reading or any knowledge related to Japanese treasures. I just wanted to share this recent finds in Thunting community/forum. WW2 Japanese cave within the lot owed by our great grandfather in Mindanao uncovered full of electrical equipment. Expert advice or views for this finds are welcome!.

Some of the items founds are: A lot of wires, insulators, bulb, empty boxes, etc...and ofcourse a generator that can supply electrical power enough to light perhaps several hundreds bulbs...

Sorry for the limited photos attached in this post.

Not to mention the value of two complete set of generators if it will be sold. I'm just puzzled, the cave was dug by the Japanese army during WW2 era but the machine stored in the cave setting there for more than 80 years where manufactured by a company in Birmingham, England. Some of the insulator were also U.S.A. made!,  Cheesy Just Amazing!...

Regarding the USA manufactured material, export of such material to Japan was not embargoed by the US until 1940/1941 so the fact that it was found in facilities that Japan may have started building as early as 1942 isn't unusual.  I don't know about the English material, but I see no reason why generators manufactured in England between say 1935 and early 1940 would not have been shipped to Japan and therefore available to Japanese forces in the Philippines.  Keep in mind that many military units on all sides of the conflict were still using arms and material from the first World War or shortly there after during the early stages of conflict.

To BitburgAggie_7377;

Thanks sir for that information. Just amazing to find it our place. Like this battery made by Lucas LTD from Birmingham, and many other items as well.

To AK48;

Hello sir, If you are referring to what brand of scanner we used to locate this finds, well, we didn't used any. But we tried many exploratory diggings in the area before finding the chamber. A lot harder than using an instrument to locate an item.
