There sure are lots of wrecks out there but they are now all protected from mean old guys like us. Guys like the late Max Cramer and the very much alive Hugh Edwards would never be allowed on the Batavia today. They had to fight dearly for everything they were allowed to keep after years of work.

Yes GD thats the only problem with that, no incentive to even look. just bought a book about the Gilt Dragon (a dramatized version) called Fortune about the story of Don Spargo, a modern explorer who finds a sunken treasure ship off the West Australian coast

I am a bit of a newbie where treasure history is concerned and wondered, you mentioned Tassie pirateers.  Any stories about Treasure on the coast of Tassie !! preferably Cygnet area ha ha
