Go Up Go Down

Today i went to Brighton beach on the south east coast of England not far from where i live and normally i would get a lot of signals and money with the E.Trac . This time i used my new Garrett A.T. pro international.
I used the Custom mode in STD because the sounds were loud and the Pro mode sounds are quieter and Brighton beach is stoney and mineralised.
I started detecting at 7am before light, the temperature was around freezing.I did not expect much and did not get much, it would not have mattered what machine i used.
Most of the coins that i picked up came up bell tone but sometimes it would have low tone after the bell tone, not sure why.
I had a lot of flat bits of metal that gave a low tone too.Iron would give a buzz.
I found that the machine would pick up the smallest targets and give a very loud bell tone so gold nuggets and silver Hammered coins will easily be picked up.

The good sides to this machine are -
1)  the coil is a decent size
2)  Water proof control box
3)  good construction
4)  good tones
5)  Very sensitive to very small targets

The bad sides to this machine are in my opinion! -
1)  No coil cover ( on Brighton beach with shingle it will kill the coil in due course)
2)  the headphone cable is to short ( another foot would have helped with tall people) though the cable is good quality.
3)  from the hand grip to the arm cup is too short for long arms suggesting that the machine is only for kids! is it?
4)  screwing in the headphone and the coil cables into the box are fiddly and difficult to tighten for some people.

Apart from that i am happy with the machine and will use it in the right circumstances but i think i will wait for the coil cover.

Thanks for the report.   I take it you didn't see any pattern as to which finds gave the lower tone?
