LOL!   There was a Pile of em.

They like Soles of Feet and White hands in the Murky Water.   Looked like fish to them. Nice little white flashes in the water.

When the Blues were running they would bit folks on the Heels all the time.  Take a nice round chunck out.  LOL!

Other facts about bluefish:

May be the most voracious predator in the Bay. A bluefish will kill another fish just for the sake of killing, even after it has eaten its fill. Bluefish have also been known to bite human bathers at beaches when they wander too close to a school of fish being hunted.

Up on my end of the gulf its black tips but other then bumping you once in awhile not a big problem. I have had bigger problems with sharks while wade fishing get 3 or 4 trout on the stringer and they will hit it and can drag you into deep water.

Yeah just checking you out most black tips are only 2 or 3 ft so even if they bite only going to hurt like hell. Now when the water is warm the bulls  hammerheads and other big one come in close but not into 3 or 4 ft water

LOL! a 3 FT shark can take 2-3lb of meat in one chunk.

Yea!  I'd say that would hurt.

I was pulling fishing weights off the back side of a sea wall reclaimed by the sea.  people would cast over it and hang up.

You could walk up to it in about neck deep water.

Jump it and the other side was just full of lures and weights.

I was getting 10-20 cents a lb for them.

I could get 30 or 40 lbs a trip out.

I seen sharks there all the time and they did there thing , I did mine.

One day I wizzed in the water and the Next thing I know, I was the Popular Kid on the Block.

Like I said the water was all stirred up.  You could just see what was in front of ya Mask and Fins.

Getting a breath of air I seen a Fin cut the swell just before the wall.

Ok, That's cool.  Down I go for more.

Next Breath, I See the Fin, Fin, Fin and More Fins in the Swell .

This time I pay attention.

I had a wet suit top on, 10lb belt plus the lead I collected over the past hour.

I sat the collected goodies on top of the wall and just kept looking.

At first I thought they was on some Mullet.

Then I got bumped once.

I started up the wall to get over and got bumped three more times before I could get up.

The wall was only 3ft under water so they could have followed me if the wanted.

Yep, Yep, Yep......    Don't Pizz in the Pool!

Back in the 60's, you could go to the Wagner  Wreck site south of Sebastian Inlet .  the shore dropped off more rapidly than other beaches and see sharks within 6 feet of shore..They would patrol the beach shore line. Smiley

Just to the north of Sabasian Inlet the currents cut a deep hole between the shore and the opening of the inlet.

We called it the Monster Hole.  Ha, Ha!   The big ins liked to hang out there waiting for things coming out of the inlet.

Have not been down that way since 68..Always meaning to go up in the garage , find my notes and figure out if a couple of spots can be found. Ladders and I don't do well with each other... Also, don't have a handle on where to stay, .....So, maybe in the next life time..Can you still camp at the park?

Dought it.   It's been 86 for so I was there.   It's all developed up now.   Google Earth it and take a look.  Nothing like when I was there.
