hey Nad, how big were those sharks that cruzed just off the beach ?

Homefire, when you started to talk about the blue fish running I thought it was dangerous because the sharks would follow them. Not that they were the ones you had to watch out for !!

How big do the Blue fish get ? In Australia we get a fish called Taylor, also called choppers. A mate of mine spared one just a few pounds, anyways it bit him through the wetsuit and left its mark! He ended up on the diner table.  Cool

Surf sharks off the coin beach, maybe average 7 to 8 foot.. I was fishing at the flats Isleof morata??? .10 foot aluminum boat, , we decides to move and the stringer made it into the blade, about the time we got the rope undone, and the mighty 5 hp motor back in the water, every damn shark there ever was was there, one followed us up on a flat, half out of the water.. I published plans for a shark shaker and promptly got the magazine in trouble with some authorities,  Don't remember if in the 60's or 70's.. As you get older, time and dates lose their importance..

Now I know what bluefish are, thanks Homefire. Thats what bit my mate in Australia. I wasn't worried about the school I was swimming with at the time. They have got some good chewing teeth   Wink
I would be more worried about the bigger fish when they are schooling, such as tiger sharks

Worst thing I experienced in the sea was a Jelly Sting and Stomping on a Sea Urchin.
