Had an epiphany.....maybe!

I have been MDing for 6 months now. I have found a few ounces worth of silver jewelry and around $60 in clad so far. I can't help but wonder if I transitioned to shallow water detecting that my precious metal finds would increase. Am I pipe dreaming or is there some validity to me wanting to cross over? The worst part is my MD is not water proof with exception of the coil. What do you guys think?

Armorer

I paid for my first underwater machine in a single day. My second one, too. More than paid for it. If you take the leap, just remember that the big finds in water are just as hard to predict as on land. Not every beach will be peppered with jewelry. You have to research and find the older beaches and you have to hit the tides and sand conditions just right. A layer of just 3 inches of loose sand can make the good stuff out or reach for even the best detector.

Good luck!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Hello,

I think your thoughts are valid and a good idea to check out & explore!

Good luck, and there should be all kinds of lost jewelry and items in the surf and on the shores of the most visited beach areas of Japan.

 Great

Good luck Armorer73.  It sounds like a good idea to try out to me.  I would do it, but I live about 350 miles from the beach!     Detecting
