Does anyone know if it is permitted to detect some of the fresh water beaches around Ocala, Deland, Orange City,..area.

Some examples are the campsites beaches at Blue Spring State Park, De Leon Springs Recreational Area, Ocala National Forest, Juniper Springs Recreational Area, Alexander Springs Recreational Area,.....etc

Thanks

Ken

Hello Ken,

welcome aboard and thanks for joining us at THunting.com.

As a general rule detecting public beaches is always legal. Infact you can detect just about any land as long as it is not private land. However permission may be required when wanting to dig.

But as far as public beaches go you can always hunt there.

Good luck and let us know what finds you come up with,

Christian

Usually public lands are fine so long as there is no signs stating otherwise.  Private land will of course need permission.  In my area wich is not near FL so may not be the same if it's national land you will definately want to take time and speak with someone there to see if it is legal and if a special permit is needed.  Also around here a person can get onto alot of state land but a good share of it requires a permit.  Usually the permit is little or no charge.

Welcome to the forum and hope to hear about some of your finds.
