"How good in salt water compared to OTHER HIGHER PRICE machines" was the question.  Answer is not very good compared to my Beach Hunter I.D., Whites Dual Field, Beachscan, Minelab, G.S.5, or Deepstar.
You didn't anwer his question you made up your own.

Now how about some depth measurements from you as to its performance on the average engagement ring. I think its very poor even if not on blacksand. I won't ask re say hammered coins as I doubt you will have any but I'll give a clue.....worse than a small ring.

Fair enough. I stand corrected but there is no call for you to deride to anyone else for answering it in a positive way. The machine has earned those positive comments from users who actually own one rather than someone who has a grudge against VLF/TR machines in salt water. I prefer a PI myself but I answered his question honestly and with reference to reviews by people who actually have hands-on experience with the machine.

There are professionals who prefer the VLF/TR to any other machine, even for underwater use.

Regarding your "hammered coin" question, why even pose such a question except to prance around bragging about how you can find them in the UK. Since he doesn't even live there, that's just a bit of Blackhat belly bucking. You are on the edge of being warned, mate. Slow down and join in.

LoL

Ever been to a pub or bar where two guys are standing up, toe to toe pushing each other with their giant beer bellies?

That's belly bucking. Pretty moronic. That's why I used it as a description.

Funny I have hammered coins from the U.S. East Coast but you need the right tools. He's in the North East where the cold Labrador current (which means he doesn't have to rush out and by the detector until the bugs are worked out and those who have to have the first one of everything will be selling and moving on to the next wonder machine).

A large lump of the coast is a barrier island created when they cut a canal back about the time of World War One. This cuts away dramatically during storms and the land is carried along to form marsh areas. You can go after modern finds or the wreck items that turn up including hammered coins.

Dave asked for views and got back sarcasm. The fact you can't supply performance details on so much as a small gold ring means you have not tried it. Now I'm off detecting for a few days so you will have some time to try and find some facts.

On the edge of being warned, what for telling, the truth.

They're referred to as "cob coins" there, not hammered.

Cob coins, dubloons, pieces of eight but not hammered coins. Those are early coins from early Europeans. There may have been the odd one dropped over there but they are not at all common.

The only sarcasm offered here has been from you. Even this post is brimming with it.

More belly bucking. Second warning.

You are being warned for your belligerent attitude, not for the entire content of your post. You can argue any point you wish to argue. That's how people learn things here but telling someone that everyone else's advice was bad advice is insulting probably 100 years of hands on experience. Clearly, you're just not qualified for that.

Glad you admit thatyou have not tried the detector in question.

Plenty of experience but few finds ...not a good mix.

I've advertised to get a second AT to compare against the first. Could be a lemon but the more experienced uses have found the same thing.

Don't worry though I'll post the results on another forum where no one will be showed up.

Who admitted anything of the sort? You? Certainly not me.

You have "advertised?" How?

Who showed you up? That's a self performance issue.

You sir, are a strange bloke.

Dave, just the tiniest bit of advice to you here. Never pay attention to the words of someone with an axe to grind. This guy hates, and I mean HATES the AT Pro and his words are never going to be accurate. He's blinded by the "I am RIGHT and you are WRONG" syndrome. Stick to impartial reviews. His cannot ever be impartial.

Hey guys,
There really is no need for all this carry on.

When I'm looking for a new machine I search the net for reviews of the particular model that I 'm considering.
If I'm still interested I then go through all the forums to find out more on that machine.
Eventually when I make my decision and part with my hard earned,
I then have to make that machine work for me, and no it won't take a few weeks.
One has to be patient and it could take a year or two (depending on the individual)
to really get to know what the detector is telling you.
That Ladies and Gentlemen is the truth of the matter.
Wise Wise Wise

That may be a good idea, because only truthful reviews are need here and you have shown yourself bias to Garrett. Be careful with your reply I don't give warnings.
