When you find it, make sure you have a permanent marker with you to draw a line so you can find it next time. Don't use one of those Whiteboard markers. Last time I used one of those, some joker had erased it by the time I got back.

Find the high water line, and the low water line. Locate the middle and walk it, thats where most of the coins come from here in the UK
