Hope we get some good cutting action of the dune line here in Florida! It's going to be full weekend of detecting and surfing for me yoo hooo! Looks like it will get the best action  from N. Carolina on up through New England. Be safe and hope everyone finds some goodies!!!

Hello thunter . It is now a category 4 . I think the East coast Storm surge may be greater than 10 feet that is predicted today . Also , what if it changed course and hit New York city or anywhere northward  . Just think of all the very old coins still buried that will be found now !! Thanks for posting !!!
HH...... Great......Eugene

Eugene, here is a good site I use for watching the swells and wind. Great stop/pause/step loop capability on the charts. If the projected path is close, I think you are right in predicting greater than 10 ft. swell for much of the east coast especially the upper portion and Nova Scotia.

I got minus tides (lower than normal) for the next couple days, I wait for these so I can get out further to areas I can't otherwise do. The problem for me is the hurricane blowing up the waves, makes it a no go. I hate bad timing.

Thank-You for posting thunter . That is a cool website . I hope Hurricane Bill stays "just strong enough" and "only close enough" to make at least 15-20 foot waves for you Metal Detectorists on the East Coast  Shocked !!! 24 foot waves are predicted for New Engand on Sunday !!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
