Are there restrictions to  metal detecting on beaches during the day, during turtle nesting season in Florida , Panama city ?

But logic suggests that you shouldn’t detect there.
You don’t want the authorities to have one more reason to ban metal detecting.

Logic does dictate. But  no one has ever posted on its. I  check the internet on laws on it. But only came up with no lights at night and other info. . But very little on what beaches the turtle nest on. Found most nesting areas on internet  was east cost and some on west and north coast.

I love metal detecting and I would hate to be told that I am allowed to detect on the “beach “because metal detectors disturb the nesting of turtles.
Any way my opinion it’s academic because as far as I know there are no turtles nesting here in Victoria. there are penguins…

I detect at panama city beach every week, the turtle nests are usualy marked with police tape type stuff, you wont miss it.

That is the same way on the Treasure Coast. They are marked with Police tape.  You should be good.
