Go Up Go Down

I have been detecting on North East Wales UK beaches for two seasons now and was initially concerned about finding
live WWII ordnance. Having found a great manny spent projectiles and loads of nasty scrap; I had been lulled into a
sense of false security.

My greatest problem has been stepping onto sharps.

A             Thorns from scrub bushes near the dunes are strong enough to penetrate a sole.

B             A galvanised nail was so well hidden in cut grass.

C             Lucky for me; the detector picked up "C" before I could step on it.   Shocked

Me thinks that I am going to have to invest in Kevlar soled boots.

Yikes.  "C" could definitely put some gimp into your giddy-up.

Kevlar is NO GOOD on sharps.

It is good for High Ballistic objects of the Dull Side.

Did you know a Bullet Proof Kevlar Vest will NOT stop a Arrow or Ice Pick.  They will find there way right through the Weaves and sink in.

Dragon Skin supported with small washers of Ceramic plates is another thing.

Now that stuff will not only stop a Needle Point Bolt from a Cross Bow or good Compound Bow it will stop some medium Rifle rounds up to 30 Cal or so.

Your going to have some Broken Bones at least.  Heart Failure due to Trauma could be.

But  it gives you that Second Chance to Stay Alive.  Remember those Guys?  Second Chance?

Not something the Local Police want you to know.

Thanks for the information Homefire. I know that you can buy boots with special metal inner soles; but they would confuse my metal detector.  Cheesy
