Ace 250
« on: June 13, 2011, 10:12:37 am »
Go Up Go Down

Went this AM and truly enjoyed myself. Now I had read about bottle caps and pull tabs and pieces of foil but nowhere did I read about hairpins and  twist ties. What a time with those. I ran the Ace at All metal and 6 on sensitivity.
I did find $.54 in clad and cleaned up the beach with the trash that I found. I now have to fine tune my ace 250 so that it is easier to swing, after about an hour and a half my forearm started to ache. I'm sure it's just finding the right length and angle of swing.

I already updated my DIY Scoop ( plans from PAT in Hawaii ) and that made it a little better.

Thanks for all the help

Twist ties, hair pins and bobby pins are almost all magnetic as are nails, pins, thumbtacks, diaper pins and beer bottle screw caps. You can save yourself lots of time by gluing a strong, rare earth magnet underneath your scoop. When those small items fall through, you can find them by passing the magnet over the sand you just sifted.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

I don't mind all the trash as I'm just learning. Running the Ace at "all metal and 5-6 on discrimination " and am having a ball. Once I learn what I'm doing and doing it correctly , I'll start playing with adjustments. Thanks and keep the tips coming

P.S.  Found this today, probably just a CZ
