just a short ways and wasn't too far from the Conn state lines but in NY.

lol, I once went to an auction and met a guy I talked with on line for 4 years on our watch forum, and couldn't believe that it worked out that way by bumping into him and commenting on his divers watch, and he then mentioned he's a member of this & that forum and his screen name...lol, I said oh man, it's me Jimmy and we laughed so hard the auctioneer had to say quite please.  Grin

Yep, thanks guys for all your advice each & every one of you!

...Or else I could have got hung up but good. lol   Great

Jimmy

Jim, the only place I saw it was here. It wasn't all that apparent what it was and to be truthful, I had no interest in looking elsewhere.

Glad you didn't buy it. All's well that ends well.

These are pretty good for MD, used a similar one for a few years and had some good results from a wreck site
No petrol fumes to worry about, all you need is a 12 volt battery or it can be connected to your boats 12 volt system.

Great topic & thread here guys!  Clapp

Sabie, enjoyed reading and looking at what you suggested as well.  I'm thinking a good electric Hookah is the ticket, but I'm also interested in seeing & reading all of the viable options such as a mere Pony Bottle, which would not be too cumbersome and at less than 12 feet of water for basic surf zone M-detecting would be a good way to go, for those of us who detect just past the surf breakers or our heads being under water.

Keep this tread going all!  Great

Jim

This one I built myself, with a few bits from PowerDive.
Proved to be quite successful as well.

Turned a few heads when I turned up on Bournemouth beach UK in the middle of winter put on a dry suit,
fins, weight belt and goggles and walked into the sea with this thing. Funny

Thanks for the invaluable info, Viracocha. I have been thinking about building one, but, alas, would have used compressors and hoses from the 'Depot' lol

Go Up Go Down

and then I had to part with it.

Yep, when I set out to do something I don't stop till I succeed, so I found an early but nice 2 cycle gas/oil powered (Evinrude Aquanaut) from 1970.

Well, got back to NY with it from Florida where I found it, and did some cleaning and then found out it didn't have the right OEM exhaust pipe, which is a double walled tuned pipe which screws into the header....these cant be found aftermarket at all & there as rare to find as hens teeth...Come to find out, these pipes are tuned by there size and shape to create the right amount of backpressure for the engine to run properly and safely.

I decided to sell the machine & maybe the buyer could go and have a correct pipe made at a metal shop & she's now sold and the buyer has another aquanaut and said he's having a pipe manufactured.

Pics Below, enjoy

Now I'm back to square one looking for another machine I'll be able to use!

Cheers,
Jim
