Wink Oh! I just saw, the image name that Kruger Rand! I think I really need some sleep now! But one more thing, what detector were you using? I wasn't lucky with most beach detectors so far. I just bought an Aquapulse and hope to be more successful with it.

I hope you can still beat that Kruger Rand! It is an amazing find. I wonder how it came there!

Oh! A cyclon! Shocked Very interesting. Just a few days ago I was discussing beach combing with my brother and we both wondered how fast and how deep lots items tend to travel down to the ground in sand.

I assume we are missing many good items as they are just too deep. Hunting an old beach site after storm thus seems to be a good idea.

Good luck for your future searches!

Regards,

Christian

Hi christian it has been my experiance that when a big blow or big seas hit ,the best place to search is in front of where everybody swims, but what i have found lately is  ;Di found the biggest stach of coins just north of surf clubs i think it has something to do with the ocean currents moving everything north, also the goodies go down as far as the dark grey sand it is too dense to let anything go through thus everything sits on top of it. Cheesy Wow! What an amazing collection of great finds! I'm afraid I can't compete with this wonderfull treasure trove   Cry

Are you using a PI or VLF machine? I have done some beach hunting in the past but often run into trouble when using a VLF machine. I had wanted to try the CZ-20 (whoch I think has now been discontinued) but haven't had a chance so far.

I would also be interested in knowing if you hand in the shallow water, surf or straight on the dry beach.

Again congratulations for these great finds.

Christian
