Yeah I though so too,  Back before the Garrett ATX came out There was The Garrett Recon which is the machine that Garrett Used to make the ATX, The Recon IS Garretts Mine and UXO Detector and I was going to buy one and was in Talks with the sales Team at Garrett, any ways life changed and that was that,
But before that I Always wanted the Whites TDI Pro and 4 years later which at Thanks to a New Member here I have managed to get one Due to the Fact that the TDI Pro is NOT part of the UK's Whites Line Up, Kiss Kiss

Anyway because it was almost impossible to get my hands on a New Pro I almost bought the ATX instead, and although The Pro is about $1000.00 cheaper it is also Deeper and offers many many more options than the ATX because there are over 100 Coils that will work on the TDI Pro from Whites, Nugget Finder and Coiltek, Minelab and the Best Coils without a Doubt are Minerjohns/Razorback Coils Made In The U.S.A. and they REALLY Boost the TDI's Performance making the TDI see Nuggets down to as Small as 0.02 grams which is somewhere around the Grain or Less sized Nuggets which is Awesome for any PI machine no matter who makes it, Even VLFs would like to be that good in The Hot Ground In Australia where These Coils Have Been Tested to the MAX.

Anyway Now I have the TDI Pro Kiss Kiss Kiss  I am thinking of adding the ATX because I like the fact that it is a Civilian Version of the RECON, I think that if it is made for the military then it is going to be Tough and plus it is waterproof to 10 Feet / 3 meters. and I love how it all folds down to only 20" long and because it is ODG which is Cool.

If you look at the controls on the hand grip you will see the only visible differences and I guess the other differences are in the programming because we need more versatility with tuning but all else is the Same.
