I metioned this before in another topic, but it is still a good tip.
I made this up for when I am walking in the water. I have a plastic basket which I bought in a dollar store. It is 14" across and has small holes in it. I got one of those kids styrofoam 2" thick tubes and cut it to the outside length of the basket rim, and then tie wrapped it to the upper part of the rim. I put a magnet in the center of the basket with a tiewrap, so it keeps it upright and it grabs the iron junk. It floats nicely, I put a cord on it with a clip to connect to my belt, and tow it in the water about seven feet behind me. When I get a small signal, I pull the cord and bring the basket close, then I gently scoop it up and put the load in the basket and shake it up. Many times the small stuff like .22-45 caliber bullet heads, rivits, etc., will fall through the holes in my scoop when I shake it out, so instead, the basket strainer finds the small items and doesn't have me constantly rescooping for those little items. Cheap to make, about $3, and will work fine.

In the " Treasure Search" series with Chuck Connors.....( episode 1 diamonds in the surf ) Bob Trevillian and Frank Carter use Whites PI 1000 detectors to make their finds in the chesapeke bay area.... after watching that.... i had to have one.... but was never able to afford it..... then i got lucky... and fell into the Whites PI 2000 UK.... I've read the manual for both the 1000 PI and 2000 PI uk on the whites web site.... i don't know that there's any difference....
SO.... My question is??? other than the name on the side.... Are They The Same Detector?Huh?

I think the Whites 2000PI is just a slightly updated PI1000. These are both old detectors. They work ok, but the newer Whites PI models are much better. On updating the Garrett Sea Hunter PI, the newer model is way better than the older Whites 1000 or 2000 PI, and they have updated the Sea Hunter also. It may cost you more, but when it comes to old equipment, the newer equipment is better, and you'll get what you pay for in technology advancement.

Portugeese Man of War stings are nasty.  I remember getting stung as a kid on Hollywood Beach (Fl).  Since that time long ago I learned to use Adolph's Meat Tenderizer on the stings.  Almost instant relief and no long lasting problems.

I got popped at Satellite Beach Fl.      Ammonia or Bleach helps too!
