Some ware some place there is another post about this.

It shows a map of some river, and possible locations.

That's cool.

I don't want to go after it being down here in Deming New Mexico.

I wish I could go after it!

Those Nickels have to be Buffaloe type and with the Electrolysis within the machin are most Red by now.

That sounds like a perfect job for a magnetometer assuming the case was made of steel. My Uncle had some slots back in 1946-49 they all had cast metal cases. Some were aluminum and some were pot metal which is mostly zinc. I remember the cases don't hold up to corrosion to well. He squirrled some away under Granny's house while he was away and in 1952 or 4 I brought one home. cleaned it up and painted it. It still worked. I think my brother has today.

about electrolysis of buried coins. That is a whole other story I would like to see a post on.

How deep were the others that were found? Sounds like an early raid and then the feds destroyed them, but that was more likely in the 1920-30s. Anyhow, they shouldn't be too deep due to the resistance of the broad surface a slot machine will have, of course those early machines were only about 2 feet high x 15" wide and about 15" thick, and maybe weight about 60-80 pounds. I would figure about 4-6 feet deep at most. A 15"-18" coil on a waterproof detector should get a reading. The probe rod should find them also, but that sure is a lot of poking. Good luck.

this ones completely off the radar,sorry homefire not down in NM.........again sorry for keeping this one close to the chest.not heading there till the end of july.not sure how deep they were found.best case=we get at least one slot,worst case=i catch a good beer buzzzz Beer Chug
