Probably Alan Hassel wrote it as he thought of him self as the first water hunter. I had him beat by years though and I wrote an article on hunting in the water for Treasure World back in 1974, which they published in 1975, which was 10 years after I had been doing it. I guess he was probably the first in England anyway. He hasn't been on here for a couple years, so he may be deceased.

Oh good, that he is still going. I didn't know he was removed. I am sure there was must have been someone out there    doing water hunting before me too I just think I wrote the first article on it. Maybe Alan wrote the first book on it. It's all not that important anyway, as long as we all had some fun and success at it, and I still am having fun and success doing it at 68 years old. Thanks.

Well mostly healthy and still working on it. Some time I will try to get some stories on here, I have mentioned a few things in the past on posts I have made before. Nothing shocking though. I'm just a normal detectorist who has enjoyed the hobby much, with all types of hunting from the desert, to the Civil War woods, to the ocean waters. Sometimes I got lucky, sometimes I struck out. Good Huntin, John
