I drag my longhandled scoop behind me also...I can always tell where I've already searched and it saves time that you'd spend accidently going over sand you've already searched. Great

THE BEST TIP YOU'LL EVER GET...........DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR FINDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok,confession time and you'll get it.last year i'm in the water a nd get a big ping,scoop it up and there she is,a beautiful gold ring with diamonds(and i mean alot of diamonds,WOOPEE FREAKING DOO!!!!!!!my best by far,so what do i do?normally i put rings on a belt clip(the spring loaded kind) and never touch it,for some reason i decide to put it in my plastic credit card holder(the kind you wear around your neck)well every once and awhile i just had to look and touch my precious.when i got back to my truck my precious was gone!searched all over,went back a few times and never found her but did manage a $700 titanium ring from the same lake. even if i went out and found the lost ships from the 1715,i'll still think about the one that got away............................IT HAUNTS ME.for your sake wait till you get home before playing with your finds

Here's another great tip, if you find something real good put it in your pouch and don't tell anybody, i Had a friend from up north, found a real nice ring and showed it to one of the people on the beach, well what happened is that person went up and told another person just what the ring looked like and that person went down and said it was his wife's ring and describe the ring perfect, so he had to give the ring to him, if he didn't he was going to get a cop and have him arrested, so here is a good tip also. Definitely a good tip, that us honest people wouldn't necessarily think of (which is why your friend had to give up the ring).

buddy of mine descibed something like what harold said about showing finds(rings)he showed someone a ring he found(mr.a).mr.a goes to tell his buddy(mr.b).mr.b says its his ring and to give it back.my bud always carries a couple junk rings for crap just like this.he palms the ring and tosses the junker back into to waves and tells mr.b to go look for it and good luck......... Funny
