I'm trying to locate some fairly good waders here in the USA.. Any input on brands and cost would be nice if anyone on this forum uses waders.. Thanks John in Va

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Waders are ok for starters and begginers but you can end up with a load of water inside them if you go out too deep or struck by a wave.  Investigate a semi dry wet suit or a dry suit for in water you can stay in the water longer using one of these.

Use the neoprean waders not the rubber chest or hip waders.

Thanks Allen.......I used waders many years ago and know about what can happen if you aren't
paying attention to your surroundings. Finding things locally is more difficult now, I'll have to drive about a hundred miles to get waders. If things go well I'll probably upgrade to a wet suit etc. Thanks for the input .........John in Va
The Bass Pro shop is the closes place to me to find waders. It's about a hundred and twenty miles round. Thank you......John in Va.

Thanks........Ordering on line would be a lot easiar, the problem with shoes or boots in recent years is that the same size for one type isn't always the same for another. I hate sending things back, so I'll just drive to the Bass Pro shop and try some on. The nearest Cabellas is in Pennsylvania, to far to drive to check on thier goods.. Have a good day hunting.........John in Va..

Hello John
You can't go wrong with waders from Bass Pro Shop.We have one in Toronto, just 1-1/2 hrs drive away.I have a pair of boot foot  chest waders I got there that are in my 4th year using them metal detecting. They are made offshore somewhere(Phillipines ?) for BONE DRY, the brand.Last year I got a leak in one boot, but a tube of AQUASEAL I got at a dive shop fixed the problem.I use a TROY SHADOW X5 neck-strap mounted for my water hunting;works very well...hot on small gold targets.

Thanks Joe for the information on the waders............I got a pair locally, about forty miles away from southern states company......They already leak and are not comfortable..... I'll be looking for a better quality outfit....

John in Va...
