Go Up Go Down

Further to my intro post a few minutes ago, one area which I'm interested in is detecting on the beach. While I will obviously ask the advice of the folks at Regton, does anyone know whether the Euroace will be ok for wet sand?

Thanks

John

Whilst I'm a big fan of Garrett... I do think you might have some problems on wet sand.
I've used an ace 150 on sand, it's great on the dry stuff but went absolutely bonkers on wet sand.
If you're after something for wet sand (and inland) I'd say a secondhand Minelab Explorer would fit the bill nicely.
You should be able to pick one up under ?400.

shantyjohn,   if you use the search function at the top of the page, you'll find that many of our users have used the Garrett Ace250 successfully in wet/salty sand conditions, although they have had to tweak the settings.   I don't see any reason why the euroace would not respond as well.   Read the following post for some tips

(also, if you still can't find enough on this board, check the Garret board to for the Garrett Ace 250 tips, there should be something useful there).

Hi,
It's the name for the version of the new ace 350 which has been slightly "tweaked" for U.K. and similar soils.

You're not paying attention, mate. You have come here prejudiced towards that belief. VLFs can be just fine if you really do what the experts here are telling you.
