Yes and no because you might have to go in the evening when you would be able to walk around. Another option is to go at the end of the season when most beach goers have called it quits for the year. Pay special attention to how far out the average person is wading. This may end up being you pay streak for lost goods. While everyone is splashing each other and throwing balls around, countless rings and bracelet go flying also. Draw some quick maps and take some notes. Do not leave it to memory alone. Good Hunting

hunt towel line out into water-about waist deep. like stated watch where the people gather.I'd also hit it am/pm to see how things are should be good then come off season hit it hard chances are you'll clean up if no one beats you to it-sure several people have same idea as you-good luck

Some quick notes here that might help you. If you are wading in waist high water, or deeper, put on your weight belt. It gives you so much more stability when digging. Being this is BC you might want a sand scoop with a pointed cutting edge because just below the sand it is packed gravel. When you hit that you will know why you wanted the weight belt. Make sure you return there again in early spring because winter ice will carve that beach all up and expose other target for your detector. I know, I live in Maine. Good Hunting
