The one big problem I've had with the Beale Codes over the years are the number of copies made that have differences such as, missing numbers, reversed digits within a number, or in one case half an entire line was missing.  Does anyone know of an exact duplicate copy of the Beale Codes and where it can purchased.
Thanks guys.

Being new to this site I would like to know how you went about solving code 3.  Is there another site I could go to and find your method? Thanks

I believe that the other papers that were thought "unimportant and not pertaining to the codes", may have help clues or part of the key. I think that they were left on purpose.

Mr. Beale wrote; "With regard to the box left in your charge, I have a few words to say, and, if you will permit me, give you some instructions concerning it. It contains papers vitally affecting the fortunes of myself and many others engaged in business with me, and in the event of my death, its loss might be irreparable. You will, therefore, see the necessity of guarding it with vigilance and care to prevent so great a catastrophe. It also contains some letters addressed to yourself, and which will be necessary to enlighten you concerning the business in which we are engaged. Should none of us ever return you will please preserve carefully the box for the period of ten years from the date of this letter, and if I, or no one with authority from me during that time demands its restoration, you will open it, which can be done by removing the lock. You will find, in addition to the papers addressed to you, other papers which will be unintelligible without the aid of a key to assist you. Such a key I have left in the hands of a friend in this place, sealed, addressed to yourself, and endorsed not to be delivered until June, 1832. By means of this you will understand fully all you will be required to do.
So, although he had the box, he never go the letters indorsed to him, inside untill he opened it, Ten years later as he was told to wait that long befor doing so.
It was rumored, that the other papers, were reciepts and one with numbers writen in all directions.

I and several of my friends deciphered the receipt papers that Pauline Innis found in the iron box. The ciphers is a handdrawn map of the vaults location actually a fault. Each of the ciphers form the letter "J" which is the location of a treasure at one end of a straight line. The rocks were found in the mountains of Bedford County and we have examined everyone of them. A dig has never been approved for our formed corporation by the landowner. The rocks are there and they do form the letter "J" and is about 80 ft long and about 30 feet wide. The ciphers numbering the stones have also been deciphered and we call it Code Paper Number 4. All compass readings of the stones are verified by the compass readings that existed in 1822 which are different by today's methods. Where the two papers are separated or torn apart is where the fault line is located.

A guy by the name of Roy Dallas announced that he has the exact coordinates of the Beale vault. He went over it with a GPR and it revealed two large deposits of metal. He plans to excavate it in the near future (I don't know the date).

anyone know anything about this yet?
the cryptography lesson was well-received

Mr Cole died back 2001 and claimed till the end that the code lead him to the caves. I don't know what happen to his research but would be interesting to look at.
