If I had found the site, I wouldn't wait for anytime in the future. I would be afraid someone else would get to it first, so, I would excavate asap

I think I would hang out in the area with a few trusted friends and get in touch with some Pros, maybe the Fisher group...... from what I understand, they already have had some interest in this treasure. They would have the know how, AND the $$$ for a good and total recovery. (Not to mention they would be able to set up security). Just let them handle the recovery and cataloging. A nice 60/40 or 50/50 split would be well worth it to me.

I had a contract with Mel Fisher in 1989 and 1990 the going percentage he was offering at that time was 5% of the treasure's value and then you had to be within 100 feet of the actual burial before being compensated. So good luck with his children they are not as generous as their father.

I came across the code some 40 years ago as a kid and spent dozens of hours working on it. Then used a computer program I wrote to test ideas in a faster manner. I would be interested in the key for the location just for giggles. There has been several people who have claimed to break the code but have not found the treasure. A show was done as well, showed lots of holes in the ground but no treasure. One could get the "History Channel" to do a special. One was done recently about a treasure in Kansas area. Geraldo did one years ago but was a bust. If you are interested in technical stuff like magnetometers I can send you the plans. GPR doesn't really distinguish between iron and earth, especially since the iron would have corroded and the vaults infilled from the surrounding soil. I have some background as my father studied to be an archeologist and I have some heavy interest in the subject. I am a new guy to this forum and stumbled on this thread by accident.

Hey JW Welcome from Texas  Glad you stumbled in. Lot's of people have studied the code's for years and  lots have claimed to have found it but its like that with all big cache's is it not.
If you head over to the new members page and tell us  a little about yourself lots of folks would like to say HEY.
