Go Up Go Down

Hello fellow  hunters,
Any tips or settings I should know about ? used it for the first time and all i found was foil.
The ground was really damp and was getting readings at 8 inches and never found the target?
I thought this coil would be perfect for my old yard with lots of trash targets.

In the middle of the yard, a sniper coil is next to useless. You will get diminished depth and very poor pinpointing ability. That explains your inability to find your object. They are used near metal objects life fence poles or playground gym sets. They allow you to get very close to metal objects that would render a larger coil useless. Just remember that you WILL have a loss in depth from using it. By around half of your machine's capability with the stock coil.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

If you are in a spot that you control access to AND/OR you have the time to clear out the surface trash, then the best course of action is to clean out the surface trash and go with the standard coil.   On the other hand, besides the fences, playgrounds, and metal buildings that GD mentions, the sniper coil comes in handy if you've traveled a couple of hours to a medium to large site covered with surface trash that you only have a few hours to hunt.   Situations like that, your choices are pretty much clear a small area thoroughly (using a large magnet can help) and then search that area carefully and thoroughly with your standard coil OR search a larger portion of the site less thoroughly by using your sniper coil to get around the visible surface trash....of course that means you'll likely miss anything under the trash you don't move and you'll still dig any trash that manages to get buried.   Choice is up to you how you prefer to spend the time.

Never used that machine but Like Said,  That coil is Kick But for what it was made for.

Between Rock and Not.

It not being tuned to the VDI will not report the Correct depth.    End Story.
