HEJ
I AM NEW HERE THANKS FOR ANYHELP
I JUST BOUGHT A ACE 250,BEFORE I HAD A GC 1023.
THE GC WAS A GREAT DETECTOR AND I USE HERE IN THE BEACHES OF BRAZIL. IT IS SIMPLE AND EASY,  AS I DO NOT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE I THINK IT IS GREAT.
I BOUGHT A NEW ACE 250 DUE WHAT I READ. FOR BE HONEST I GOT DISPONTED. HERE IN BRAZIL HE IS SOLD FOR THE 2 PRICE OF THE GC AND AT LEAST NOW DO NOT DO MUCH.
I TRY IT AND TRY TO BLOCK THE UNDESIRED SIGNAL AS CANS , CANS LIFT, FOIL.
WHEN I USE THE COIN SETTING IT DOES NOT DETECT THE COINS HERE (ALL) I SUPPOSE MUST BE DIFERENT COMPOSITION.ANY ONE IS HAVING THE SAME DISAPOINTMENT?
ONE THING I THINK THE GC DETECT BETTER THAN THE 250 (I MEAN WHEN IT DO A SOUND I HAVE TO PASS BAC MANYTIMES TO GIVE THE OTHER SOUND AND MARK THE POINT THE GC IS IMEDIATELY) IS THIS WHAT THE PEOPLE SAY RECOVERING TIME?
PS: SORRY FOR THE MISTAKES

Go Up Go Down

I have used the Ace 250 for over a year now and have learned the best way is to run in all metal and notch out everything all the way to 1 cent to reduce the amount of trash. I use the 6.5x9, 9x12 and the 11x14 accellerator coils. If it sounds more than once it is normally a coin and if it sounds once then moves all over the place on scale it is normally trash.  Detecting

I have been using the Ace 250 for a couple weeks now and I have noticed the same things. The way I have gotten better at finding coins and not trash is to pass the detector over the spot where the coin dings, 3 or 4 times if the tone doesn't change then it usually is what the detector says it is. If it changes to the iron end then its usually trash. I was more disapointed with the target ID. My 250 usually tells me that everything is a coin at first. I have found 4 inch long bolts that the detector told me were dimes. It will get better The more I use mine the better I get.

What everyone has to remember is that the target ID of VLF detectors (Ace 250) base their identification on the phase response of the reflected signal.  If the long bolt's reflected signal's phase delay with respect to the transmitted signal's phase is the same as a coin it will id as a coin.  Here is a tip:  When you find a signal that is repeatable try swinging from different directions.  Sometimes due to the orientation of the target in the ground you will receive a different response from different directions.  I would still recommend digging all targets when first starting out to get a feel for the detector and how it responds to different types of targets and soil conditions.
