How long can I expect my 9volts to last? Should I carry spares at all times?
I have a Bounty hunter sharpshooter.
Thanks for any replies.

Just good practice to carry spares.  Would suck to be in the middle of some awesome hunting and have the batteries go.    If you use headphones, you get longer battery usage from what I have read and since I have been out numerous times learning myu machine on the same set of batteries, I would have to agree Smiley

Go by what the Manual says!

10-20 hours?   Most say that.

Always carry sparse if you want to hunt.   Things happen.

Battery chemisty, Head Phones used, all play a part on how long you will get.

If you do a bunch of short hunts they will last longer.

If you take them down a few times not so long.

Just carry some spares and be happy.

 Cool

Unless I'm hunting the park down the street from my house, I ALWAYS carry spares--even if I just changed the batteries.   It sure beats having to cut the hunt short because of a bad battery in either the machine or the pinpointer (or if I'm hunting with a partner, because the partner's machine ran out of juice and he forgot a spare).   And it's not like 9 volt batteries weigh a lot or take up a lot of space.

Now if we were talking the old school machines that took a whole lot of c cells or d cells, I might change my answer  Wink

Invest in rechargeable batteries for one and use headphones, you will extend the battery life greatly

Bounty Hunter detectors are notorious for their short battery life. Carry spares at all times.
