Which is the best pin pointer to get?  Just about every detector manufacturer makes them and claims they are the best.  What is your preference in the under $200 dollar range? I prefer one that will give me an audible signal.  A vibrating one would be my second choice unless you have a reason why vibrating over audible is preferable.

Thanks in advance.
Richard

Never Needed one.

If I did I would go with the cheapist I could find.

Hell A Centech would work for me.

They all Brake the same.

In my opinion pin pointers are a waste of time and money most long time hunters will agree I think. If you learn your machine and what its telling you a PP is just one more thing to carry around.

I agree with Seldom and homefire that detector users should learn to pinpoint without a detector.   However, I've also seen situations where a pinpointer has definitely sped things up especially when you are recovering small targets that are the same basic color as the surrounding dirt.

On the other hand, IF you do feel the need for one,  I suggest you either go the route homefire is suggesting and buy a Centech which is probably the best and most reliable of the "cheap" pinpointers OR you go to the other extreme and pay the extra money for either a Garrett Pro-Pointer or a Garrett THD (the military/police version of the Pro-Pointer).   I just purchased a used THD for my wife.   It takes up a whole lot less space than a Centech and is a LOT more sturdily built (i.e. NO chance of the sensor snapping off when you get too excited or if you kneel wrong and get tangled up in your equipment).

Thanks for the suggestions guys.  Yes, I don't need a pointer but at age 65 it's allot harder getting back up off my knees and the longer I'm down the harder it is to get up.  I usually pass my carbon trawl over the detector head to check but those .22 caliber size targets sometimes want to move around on me!  Undecided  So less time on my knees is a good thing!
