I quess you have a detector already.  I would suggest that you practice in your yard alot.  Just like most things in life O.J.T. is the best education for anything.  Learn your dector and it's different signals.  Try to perfect your pinpointing ability and your on your way to a fast recovery time.  Most of what I've learn is out in the field.  The other thing I would recommend is RESEARCH.  Finding change is fun but finding places around your home that could produce antique items is alot more rewarding.  Go to your library and start with the oldest newpaper they have on microfilm.  You'll learn stuff about your community that you never knew and possibly run across places where things happened, indian raids, battles, old towns, old rail stations, old fair grounds, old swimming holes that kind of stuff.  Shawn
