Just depends on where you live and where your detecting. Snakes are probably a bad one for most people, where I am there are unmarked open mine shafts and a fall into one could be fatal especially if its full of rattlers. About the only other danger are mountain lions and then mother bears with cubs in a few months.

depending where we live it can be dangerous, but staying at home watching tv in the sofa can be too, an aircaft could hit your roof, or walking on the sidewalks can make you an easy prey for a crazy driver, or you can slip while taking a bath... OMG! we all gonna die!  Shocked
