Go Up Go Down

I am now the proud owner of a Delta 4000. Could someone please advise me as to the best carrying method? In a long bag ready to use or in a short bag split to go inside.  Thank you.

i will say its totally up to you.
i always carry them as one peace,( i do own a big station wagon) without the batteries installed.
i install batteries just before i start the hunt and i remove them after i finish.

Here I go pulling up another old post, but I think nickel's tip about removing the batteries is an important one.  More detectors have been ruined because the owners didn't remove the batteries than because of the bag the owner used to store/transport them in.
I've used no bag and I've used a traveling golf bag that lets me pack several detectors and their coils in the same bag.  I've also broken down my detector and packed it in the bottom section of a two part rolling duffle bag when traveling by airline.
Packing in a long bag means you can pull the machine out of the bag and start swinging faster once you are on site.  On the other hand, if you have multiple coils (hopefully with a separate lower rod for each coil) the chances are you'll want to walk the site for a few minutes when you first get there so you can decide which coil is best for the conditions you're seeing.  In that case having the detector broken down actually saves you a bit of time (unless you've got the right coil on it to start with).

Mine looks similar to the one in the picture.   The external pockets come in handy for digging tools, hats, batteries, etc.   The fact it rolls even comes in handy
